GEN U Committees

GEN U has multiple committees responsible for planning and carrying out the organization's special events and initiatives. Committee membership is open to any GEN U members looking to get more involved. Our committees are a great way to meet new friends and make connections, while gaining valuable leadership experience. Most committees meet once a month (more/less dependent on needs) on a weekday evening.

If you'd like to become more involved within GEN U, please contact the chair(s) of the committee(s) that you would like to join for more information.

MEmbership Committee

GEN U is always looking to grow our membership base and improve the member experience! We do this through planned quarterly socials, word of mouth, and social media marketing. We're always welcoming new ideas! The Membership Committee plans quarterly all-membership socials, creates networking opportunities, and works to improve the member experience.

To join or more information, contact the Membership Committee Chair:

The Special Events Committee is responsible for planning and implementing any events outside of the socials, including one formal event that raises funds for the Heart of Illinois United Way Community Impact Fund.

At GEN U, we’re passionate about introducing young professionals to the amazing non-profit organizations in the greater Peoria area. The Community Impact Committee helps us accomplish this by organizing local volunteer opportunities and planning lunch and learn tours of the agencies in our community.
