GEN U Committee Structure

About our committees: GEN U has three committees responsible for planning and carrying out the organization's special events and initiatives. Committee membership is open to GEN U members and non-members alike. Our committees are a great way to meet new friends and make connections, while gaining valuable leadership experience. Most committees meet once a month (more/less dependent on needs) on a weekday evening.

If you'd like to become more involved within GEN U, please contact the chair(s) of the committee(s) that you would like to join for more information.

MEmbership Committee

GEN U is always looking to grow our membership base! We do this through planned quarterly socials, word of mouth, and social media marketing. We're always welcoming new ideas! The Membership Committee plans quarterly all-membership socials, creates networking opportunities, and works to improve the member experience.

Mad Dash Committee

Inspired by the hit show The Amazing Race, the GEN U Mad Dash is a race against the clock for teams of 2-4 people to complete as many diverse challenges as possible within the given time. Teams compete for a variety of prizes, and all funds raised benefit the Heart of Illinois United Way Community Impact Fund. The Mad Dash Planning Committee helps plan Mad Dash's exciting challenges, recruit volunteers, and secure sponsorships & donations.
