Join GENeration United on Wednesday, September 25 from 5 -7 p.m. for Beers & Books, a volunteer opportunity to help sort books for the Heart of Illinois United Way Success by Six Initiative. Drinks and snacks will be available to those who attend. This volunteer event will take place in the Heart of Illinois United Way Carriage House, located behind the United Way main office.

This is two-day seminar (November 5 + 7, 4-7 p.m.) features presentation from local nonprofit and business leaders. Dinner to be served both nights. Offered in the spring and fall, BoardSERVE attendees learn about the financial, marketing, fundraising, and strategic components to serving on a nonprofit committee or Board through presentations by local nonprofit and business leaders. Afterwards, participants work one-on-one with GEN U members to identify where in the community they would like to donate their time and talents, and work to make connections with those agencies.
Join us on Tuesday, August 20 from 5 - 7 p.m. for a GEN U Volunteer Opportunity at Midwest Food Bank. Midwest Food Bank works to alleviate hunger and malnutrition locally and throughout the world. During our volunteer shift, we will be helping package meals for Midwest Food Bank to distribute.
Join us over your lunch break for a tour of Almost Home Kids at OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois. The mission of Almost Home Kids is to provide a bridge from hospital to home for children with medical complexities. Cost of the tour is $5 to cover lunch.

This gathering will include food, drinks, summer games, and amazing door prizes.
Join us on Saturday, July 13 from 9 - 11 a.m. for a GEN U Volunteer Opportunity at EP!C. EP!C works in the Peoria area community to empower and support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. During our volunteer shift, we will be assisting the EP!C Harvest program by helping with CSA vegetable pick-up and by weeding their community garden.
